About Us

EXPERIENCED

We have over 40 years experience selling quality firewood

LOCAL

Our firewood is sourced locally from USFS & local fire mitigation projects. We are local and employ local labor.

COMMUNITY PARTNER

We partner with Bayfield High School to offer work experience opportunities packaging commercial campfire wood bundles.

DELIVERY ZONES

We deliver to LaPlata county, Southern San Juan County (CO), Pagosa Springs and Aztec, NM

LOW INCOME ASSISTANCE

We participate in the Energy Outreach Colorado (EOC) program to serve our needy clients. This program is administered by Salvation Army, Pine River Shares and LaPlata Family Center Coalition.

ENERGY ASSISTANCE

We also provide firewood to Low income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) participants.

The Owner

Tony Shurts has been a 25 year resident of southwest Colorado. Originally from the midwest where he served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader having no less than 4 Eagle Scouts come through the ranks during his tenure as Scout Master. More recently he served as President of the Vallecito Conservation and Sporting Association at Vallecito, CO.

Tony is a retired Clinical Pharmacist having practiced on several Indian Health Service locations.

Tony spends most of his summers on the Olympic Peninsula and Alaska fishing, crabbing, clamming and oystering in the pristine waters of the Pacific Northwest.
